Strategic Shift to "Kill-Capture Missions" in Afghanistan
The U.S. recently deployed fresh troops to Afghanistan with the mission of aiding Afghanistan in the process of building effective government, creating economic growth and increasing security. U.S. military is placing emphasis on the people and re-structuring of Afghanistan, but forces have not lost focus of insurgents. In the past few months months, CIA, Navy Seals and Army Special Operations teams have focused their energy on taking down one to two insurgents at a time, a strategy called “Kill-Capture Missions”, when good-will cannot convert them.
