Northrop Grumman, Purdue, MIT, & Carnegie Mellon Announce New Cyber Research Consortium

Northrop Grumman announced today a five-year partnership with three universities focusing on providing “new tools and methods for countering cyber threats.” The initiative will involve 10 separate projects (MIT and Carnegie Mellon each having three and Purdue four) along with complimentary research by Northrop Grumman.

The projects focus on identifying future threats as opposed to only being reactive to threats currently found in cyberspace and include concepts such as making computers better able to identify right and wrong commands to reshaping how computer infrastructures and systems are built to enable easier detection of cyber attacks.
