Israeli Military Police Start Investigating Alligations of War Crime

B’tselem, an Israeli human rights organization, said that members of the military police asked for help in securing interviews with Palestinians living in Gaza. B’tselem claims to have already contacted 30 Palestinians in Gaza on behalf of the IDF’s military police.

Earlier this week, the reported that the IDF’s Advocate General, Maj.-Gen. Avichai Mandelblit, after reviewing over 140 complaints submitted by Palestinian citizens and human rights organizations, has opened 28 separate criminal investigations.

In a meeting on Tuesday with the Knesset’s Foriegn Affairs and Defense Committee that there should be no independent investigations in to allegations of war crimes committed during operation Cast Lead. So far, no one soldiers have been charged with any crimes associated with Cast Lead.
