Israel Arrests Top Hamas Leader

Israeli forces arrested Maher U’dda, a top Hamas official said to be responsible for killing more than 70 Israelis. The arrest came Saturday night following a joint operation by Israeli police and security forces. U’dda lived in Ramallah, where he established the first Hamas cell in the city in the early 1990s. According to the IDF press statement, “U’dda’s arrest is the final stage in thwarting Hamas’ military headquarters in Ramallah, which executed various terror attacks.” The Palestinian Authority has yet to release a statement.
