Indian PM to Visit Russia

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has left for a three-day trip to Moscow, where he is expected to sign a framework civil nuclear cooperation agreement with Russian President Medvedev. With the new agreement, India will expand its nuclear cooperation with Russia, just weeks after announcing two new Russian-built reactor sites.

In addition to their nuclear cooperation, Singh and Medvedev are expected to discuss terrorism, energy security, and the ongoing violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  The trip reflects recent efforts by India to bolster its strategic ties with Russia, improving trade and defense exchanges between to two historic partners.
