Global Warming Produces Call for Deep Water Port in Alaska

Due to Global Warming, the long sought-after Northwest Passage is becoming increasingly navigable.  As a result, Rep. Don Young (R- Alaska) is proposing a bill to open a new deep water port in Alaska.  The reduction of the arctic ice pack could potentially alter the dynamics of naval operations, and also gives rise to issues regarding the sovereignty of the waterway.
