Yesterday, U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler ruled that the Department of Defense was in contempt of court for failing to videotape the testimony of Guantanamo detainee Mohammed al-Adahi. Al-Adahi’s testimony was given via a June teleconference at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility – failure to tape the testimony was the result of “oversight and miscommunication,” as argued by DoD lawyers. Al-Adahi’s defense team asserted that this oversight, however, was an intentional act to conceal Guantanamo’s harshness from the world community.
