8 Pakistani Government Officers Suspended After UN Report on Benazir Bhutto's Assassination

Days after the United Nation’s investigative fact-finding report on Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, the results already led to the suspension of several officials in the Pakistani government. Farhatullah Babar confirmed that all the suspensions had been approved and passed by the prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani. According to sources, both Bhutto and the government were aware of death threats made against her, and it is because of the Pakistani government’s internal conflicts that Bhutto was not adequately protected on the day she did. The majority of Pakistanis feel that Benazir Bhutto’s death is related to Musharraf’s government, and this UN Report was instigated by the President, Asif Ali Zardari.
